THE STEP WORKSHOP

The STEP program was created by ASID to provide experiences and information essential to the exam preparation process, and the STEP workshop is taught by leaders who are practicing educators and designers and who have been carefully selected and trained to deliver the program. This incomparable program guides participants through practice exams, including the schematics and design development practicum, and demonstrates techniques that are indispensable in taking the test. The workshop also covers the six domains and 29 tasks that are the basis of the NCIDQ test material. Through 20+ hours of classroom and one-on-one instruction over two-and-a-half-days, workshop participants have the opportunity to identify their strengths and weaknesses, analyze their skills and develop a study plan for areas that require further preparation. Participants receive helpful guidance and practice materials to take home with them.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN STEP?

Step is a valuable asset to any practicing designer preparing for the NCIDQ exam. Participants are not required to be ASID members. Participants are not required to have applied for or have been accepted to sit for the NCIDQ exam. Participants are not required to prove that they are eligible to take the NCIDQ, however, it is recommended that participants verify with NCIDQ that they are or will be eligible to take the NCIDQ exam.
